Multan region given 29,000 new gas connections

General Manager, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Multan region Amjad Mumtaz Thursday said 29,000 new domestic connections were given to consumers, constituting 64 per cent of target set for current fiscal year 2016-17.
While talking to APP, he said that SNGPL had set a target of 45,000 new gas connections in Multan region and showed good progress by achieving it by 64.4 per cent in the first eight months, despite shortage of gas meters.
He said that the issue of gas meters shortage would be resolved soon and hoped SNGPL would meet the target well before the end of the fiscal year. Amjad Mumtaz said that gas demand and supply gap in Multan region narrowed significantly with gradual rise in temperature and decrease in use of heaters and geysers.—APP
