Mufti Nasir asks people to protest on interlocutor’s arrival

Srinagar

In occupied Kashmir, Deputy Grand Mufti, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam has appealed to people to observe coming Monday, the day when Dineshwar Sharma, the India-appointed interlocutor on Kashmir is arriving in the territory, as ‘Befooling Day’.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Mufti Nasirul Islam said that without involving major stakeholders, the appointment of interlocutor was a futile exercise.
He said appointing interlocutor by India was aimed at befooling people of Kashmir and said that Monday, the day when the interlocutor is arriving in Kashmir, should be observed as ‘befooling day’.
“What is the fun of appointing an interlocutor; this is mere eyewash to befool people of Kashmir. I also received an invitation for talks with the interlocutor, but I refused to enter into any dialogue with him as I believe that any talks without involving all stakeholders is a futile exercise,” Mufti added.
Mufti Nasir said people of Jammu and Kashmir will vehemently oppose any move aimed at changing the demographic setup of the territory.
Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam also gave a deadline of three moths to the puppet regime to close all liquor shops in the territory or be ready to face agitation.—KMS
