Mubashir of PML-N elected unopposed Mayor

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate colonel (retd) Mubashir Javed was elected unopposed as Mayor Lahore, as his rival PTI’s candidate’s nomination papers were rejected for being incomplete. PML-N candidate colonel (retd) Mubashir Javed submitted his nomination papers for the mayor’s slot. The nomination papers of his rival PTI’s candidate Aafeef Abbasi were rejected for being incomplete. No other candidate submitted papers for taking part in the election within the give time.
The PML-N covering candidate Shahid Kardar withdrew his nomination paper so the PML-N candidate returned as unopposed. It is to be mentioned here that Mubashir Javed had been elected on a reserved seat for technocrat of Lahore Municipal Corporation. Mubashir Javed formally joined PML-N after his retirement from Pakistan Army.
