Mr PM, convene APC on IHK

INDIA is relentlessly continuing its killing spree in occupied Kashmir. Heavy clashes between Indian troops and unarmed Kashmiri people were also reported on Saturday in different areas of the Valley. In Kupwara alone, the Indian troops killed two Kashmiri youth while rendering over hundred others injured. The current situation triggered by the killing of Burhan Wani has deteriorated to the level that world community expressed serious concerns over atrocities by the Indian troops.
Voicing apprehensions once again over the IHK situation, the US has said that it wanted to see the tension de-escalated, and for this purpose it is also in touch with its Indian counterparts. In the meantime, the saner voices in India itself are adding their voices against the persecution campaign in Kashmir. Noted Indian human rights activist and journalist Teesta Setalvad while addressing a ceremony the other day said Kashmir dispute cannot be resolved through use of brute force, advising the Indian government to pursue the course of unconditional dialogue for settlement of the issue. In this perspective when the struggle of Kashmiri people has got the attention of the world, it is high time that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif without wasting any time convenes an All Parties Conference (APC) forthwith to work out a unanimous course of action to highlight this lingering dispute effectively at different world forums. The subject of Kashmir deserves much more attention on the part of Pakistan than anything else. All the political parties need to put their heads together and give their inputs as to how the Kashmir dispute can be further highlighted effectively as Freedom movement, which actually runs into the blood of every Kashmiri youth, took a new turn and responsibility rests with Pakistan being the main party in the dispute to gear up diplomatic efforts to bring an end to long miseries of Kashmiri people. While the Kashmiri youth are hoisting Pakistani flags all around with slogans of long-live Pakistan, time has come for Pakistan to forcefully advocate Kashmir issue at all world forums with force and conviction.
