Provocative speech case
Karachi—Several leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement have been declared proclaimed offenders in a case pertaining to provocative speeches by the party’s London-based chief, Altaf Hussain.
According to SSP Malir Rao Anwaar, the case has been registered in Malir Police Station. MQM leaders nominated in the case have been declared as ‘proclaimed offenders’ by court.
Qamar Mansoor, Farooq Sattar, Rashid Godil, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Tayyab Hashmir and Saif Yar Khan have been booked in the case for ‘conspiring against the state’, ‘inciting masses against national institutions’, and running a ‘movement of rebellion’ in the country.
Police says the MQM leaders could be arrested as they have not so far acquired bail in the case.
