Karachi—The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has condemned the Haqiqi for setting its election office ablaze in lines Area and intimidating the workers through heavy aerial fire.
The Coordination Committee of the MQM has said that a handful of “terrorists” belonging to Haqiqi in association with other militants had attacked union council No 9 in Lines area, which is also a temporary election office of the MQM.
The Coordination Committee said that the venue of this tragic bid of terror is situated near Preedy Street and in the close vicinity of Brigade Police Station (PS).
The SHO of the Brigade PS Akbar Ghauri while ignoring his duty for protecting the peaceful workers and general supporters of the MQM had purposely played a supporting role and caused the shops and markets to shut so as to avoid identification of the invading terrorists.
The Coordination Committee also condemned the Haqiqi terrorists for torture on a 60 year old supporter of the MQM, Muhammad Aslam.
The Coordination Committee said that the Haqiqi terrorist had destroyed the fixture and furniture inside the election office. A couple of day earlier, MQM elections rally was also attacked in North Nazimabad area.
It said that police and other law enforcement agencies have been targeting innocent MQM workers and the list of arbitrary arrest is quite longer but they have allowed the Haqiqi terrorist to target MQM workers without any fear.
The Coordination Committee said this is a tactful maneuvour of the anti-MQM elements for restricting the voters of the MQM from casting their votes to MQM candidates in by-elections scheduled on April 7 this current month.
It said that the workers and supporters of the MQM are fully aware of this conspiracy and hence they won’t let the conspirators succeed in their plans.
The Coordination Committee appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the people who attacked the election office and order their arrest.
The conduction of the by-polls should be ensured peacefully and those cops, who connived with the terrorist, should also be brought under action.
