Mövenpick Hotel Karachi observed Earth Hour 2017 by switching off the lights throughout the hotel. The hotel registered itself for Earth Hour to turn off the lights for an hour at 8.30 pm in acknowledgement of an act that will benefit our planet Earth.
Earth Hour is a globally significant event observed for environmental awareness which is in practice for the last six years.
This one-city initiative has grown to be a global movement across 178 countries and territories. Earth Hour is reported as “the world’s largest campaign for the planet”. Individuals, businesses, governments and communities are invited to turn off the lights for one hour from 8.30 pm – 9.30 pm on last Saturday of March.
Like every year, Mövenpick Hotel Karachi also participated in the campaign to play its part in contributing towards the welfare for our planet. “Mövenpick Hotel Karachi is a sustainable entity that believes in using the resources efficiently“ said Mirza Mansoor, General Manager, Mövenpick Hotel Karachi.
The hotel not only stopped its operation but also encouraged its room guests to observe the campaign.
