Karachi—An MoU between DHA Karachi (Defence Housing Authority) and Institute of Business Administration (IBA) for establishment of a new IBA Campus at DHA City Karachi (DCK) was signed today. Lieutenant General Naveed Muk-htar, Corps Commander was the chief guest of the function while Dean & Director IBA, Dr Ishrat Hus-sain and Administrator DHA Brigadier Zubair Ah-med were also present on the occasion.
Corps Commander while commended the intiative of IBA to establish its new Campus in DCK said it will help in promotion of quality educa-tion.
Dr. Ishrat Hussain in his address thanked Pakistan Army and the administration of DHA Ka-rachi for its cooperation in realizing the project of establishing a new IBA campus in DCK. He said that promotion of quality education was pivotal for progress of the nation. He reiterated that IBA was committed to produce dynamic and forward looking leaders who can produce innovative and creative solutions to address the pressing needs of the coun-try. He added that the new IBA Campus in DCK would harness and nurture the best talent from the country and equip them with a renewed confidence and intellectual curiosity of professional dynamism.
Administrator of DHA Brig Zubair in his address said that DHA accords highest priority to promotion of education as a tangible measure to bring socio-economic development of society. He elaborated that DHA is establishing a dedicated Education District in DCK which will be spread over 103 acres of land where five nationally and internationally renowned educational institutions will establish their campuses.
A large number of people from all walks of life including notables, office bearers of DHA resi-dents associations, educationists, investors, DHA and IBA officials attended the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Administrator DHA Brig Zubair Ahmed inaugurated a Free Blood Testing Camp for Hepatitis ‘B’ and ‘C’ established by Dr Essa Labo-ratory & Diagnostic Centre at DHA Head Office. ISO 9001-2008 certified Dr Essa Lab is the largest private blood testing and diagnostic network in the country that conducts computerized PCR based tests on highly sensitive analysers with accuracy and credibility.
At the DHA Camp, free of cost expensive blood tests were conducted to conclusively identify lethal liver attacking viruses of Hepatitis B & C in blood. Dr Sabiha Essa Abdullah, Head of Essa Lab said that the aim of establishing blood testing camp was to create awareness of the importance of early detection and treatment of the lethal liver diseases. She said that the goal of their setup was to deliver caring and compassionate quality service that con-tributes to the enhanced health care in society.
