Motorway Police deploy 12 anti-overcharging squads

Islamabad—The Motorway Police has established 12 anti-overcharging squads to save passengers from fleecing of transporters during holidays of Eid-ul-Fitr.
DIG Motorways Police North Zone Ashraf Zubair Siddiqui told that four special control rooms have also been established to help passengers during Eid holidays. According to details, anti overcharging squads has been assigned to control overcharging by transporters during holidays.
DIG further informed that four special control rooms have been established and passengers can lodge their complaints 051-9231001, 092-3695043, 054-4647364 and 055-6816100 including help line 130 in case of overcharging or overloading by transporters.
SSP Ahmad Mukhtar Khan, SSP Farrukh Rasheed, SP Naeem Hayat Tiwana and SP Inam Elahi would monitor special control rooms and anti overcharging squads.
DIG added that heavy fine would be imposed and extra fare charged from passengers would be returned to them on the spot. Overloading will not be tolerated on Eid days as it is one of the major causes of accidents. DIG said that all above mentioned steps are being taken to assist the passengers during journey.—APP
