Moderate rain expected

Islamabad—The Meteorology-cal department of Pakistan Thursday predicted chances of moderate rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds. According to an official, a westerly wave is prevailing over Balochistan and likely to persist till Friday. This weather system is likely to grip upper parts of the country on Friday and Saturday.
Widespread rain-thundershower associated with gusty winds is expected in Balochistan with chances of scattered heavy falls in Makran, Kalat, Naseerabad, Sibbi and Quetta divisions. Rain-thundershower associated with gusty winds is also expected at isolated places in KP (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, D.I Khan divisions), Sukkur, Larkana, Hy-derabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Met Office predicted widespread rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls in Makran, Kalat, Naseerabad, Sibbi and Quetta divisions on Thursday and Friday. Heavy rains may trigger flash flooding in the vulnerable districts (Kech, Panjgur, Awaran, Khuzdar, Kalat, Bolan, Jhal Magsi, Sibbi, Harnai, Kohlu, Loralai and Quetta) during the period.—APP
