Mirwaiz condemns killing of elderly man, ban on IRF

Srinagar—The Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed grief over the death of an elderly man from Elahi Bagh area of Srinagar, Ghulam Muhammad Khan, who was critically injured by Indian forces earlier this month. Such killings won’t deter Kashmiris from pursuing their ideological path to freedom.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to remain under house arrest, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Kashmiris of all ages – infants, children, young or old – were being killed by the Indian forces’ personnel which was condemnable.
He also denounced the ban on Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) run by renowned Islamic scholar, Dr Zakir Naik. He said, the great contribution of IRF in spreading and promoting Islamic teachings is well known.
