Minister urges young doctors to serve ailing humanity

Minister for Health Dr Jawad Sajid Khan has urged the young doctors to work at District Headquarters Hospitals (DHQs) and Tehsil Headquarters Hospitals (THQs) with a spirit of serving the ailing humanity. He said that field experience not only helps a doctor to become a good clinician but also provides quality health opportunities to people at local levels, reducing the patient flow towards teaching hospitals.
He was talking to a delegation of Young Doctors Association (YDA) here. Headed by Dr Maroof Wains, the delegation consisted of Dr Mehmood-ul-Hasan, Dr Salman Haseeb, Dr Shoaib Niazi, Dr Usman, Dr Qasim, Dr Umer and other office-bearers.
The delegation apprised the minister of their reservations about the central induction policy for post-graduate trainee doctors. They requested for enforcing security laws in hospitals to control violence against doctors and other staff.
The delegation also requested that FIRs registered against doctors in the incident of Gynaecology Department of Services Hospital a few months back in which an attendant of a patient had died, should be withdrawn as doctors were not involved in the case.—APP
