Karachi—Sindh Food Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that equitable distribution of gunny bags is being ensured. He was talking to growers from various districts in the province on Sunday.
The Minister said that action is being initiated against the district food inspectors in the area where complaints are being received regarding the availability of gunny bags. He said that he was himself undertaking surprise visit to the centres in all the districts and that complaints regarding gunny bags are being disposed of.
Nasir Shah pointed out that of the target of 1.1 million tons, the Sindh government has procured over 40 percent of the wheat from the growers. He further stated that 85 percent of the growers have been provided gunny bags.
The Minister said that of the six million tons of wheat produced in Sindh, the provincial government is procuring 1.1 million tons. He said that it is being ensured that gunny bags is provided to growers in an equitable manner. Nasir Shah said that in view of complaints from the growers, action has been initiated.—APP
