Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Muhammad Akram Khan Durrani Monday directed the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation (PHAF) to expedite work on all projects and ensure delivery of housing units according to deadline set by the department. He further directed the management to keep constant vigilance over the ongoing projects to ensure transparency in counstruction.
The Minister stated this while chairing 24th meeting of Board of Directors (BoD) of PHAF here. The meeting was also attended by Secretary Housing and Works, Shahrukh Arbab and other members of the board, said a press release issued here.
Durrani said that he would also pay surprise visits to all the ongoing projects to check the on ground progress. He said strict action would be taken against negligents in achieving the set targets. He said that all energies should be utilized to provide maximum services to the allotees.
He said that the vision of providing affordable but standard housing units to low income groups shall be pursued with full vigor. The minister directed the PHAF foundation to come up with workable solution for completion and handing over the possession of to the G-10/2 allottees on priority.
He also urged the allottees to clear their dues so that the final stage of work would be finished within shortest possible time which leading towards handing over of the apartments to them. The BoD approved engagement of consultant through competitive process for initiation of housing projects in the recently taken over land in Hayatabad and Hasan Gari, Peshawar.
The BoD also approved service regulation for PHAF. It further approved policy guidelines for high rise buildings at G-10, G-11 and Kurri Road.
