Jeddah—The Fifth Extraordinary Islamic Summit will be held on Palestine and Al-Quds (Jerusalem), in here on March 6-7, amidst great challenges facing the Palestinian question, namely Israeli intransigence and ongoing violations against Islamicholy sites in Jerusalem, let alone the heavy-handed policy adopted by the occupation forces against the Palestinian people.
The Summit derives its importance from its endeavour to restore the Palestinian question to the forefront of political action, in view of the difficult situation in the region.
Ambassador Samir Bakr Diab, OIC Assistant Secretary General for Palestine and Jerusalem, said that “the Summit of OIC Heads of State, under the theme:(Unity for a Just and Lasting Solution), will be looking at ways to unite the efforts of Member States to restore momentum to the Palestinian question, in light of the stalemate resulting from Israel’s riding roughshod over international treaties, agreements and resolutions.
