Measures being taken for equal opportunities to all citizens

Dr. Nadeem Shafiq Malik, Chairman NCSW on Wednesday said that present Government is taking measures to provide equal opportunities for development to all its citizens. He said this while addressing an awareness seminar titled “Social issues of Pakistan and role of NGOs/Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies held in connection with International Volunteers Day on Thursday
Dr. Nadeem Shafiq Malik chaired the seminar. representatives of civil society, NGOS, students, officials of the CA&D Division and other stakeholders attended the seminar. Prominent social welfare experts delivered lectures about the effective role of VSWAs/NGOs in the eradication of social welfare problems.
In his presidential address, Dr. Nadeem Shafiq said all the segments of society especially, welfare institutions have to play their vital role in order to achieve the socio-economic programme of the country. He said, “While the VSWAs/NGOs are providing their services in every walk of life. We have to work side by side along with VSWAs/NGOs in order to uplift the social living of the people. This will be possible only when both the Government as well as their institutions keep trust on each other and in order to preserve this trust NCSW is playing an important role.”
Dr Nadeem said, “Our religion Islam also teaches us to perform social welfare activities with patience, cheerfulness and tolerance. “And this is also the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Therefore, the more, we have patience and tolerance, the more we can help the needy people with happiness and cheerfulness,” he said.
