MCI will end discrimination between urban, rural areas of capital: Ansar

Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Anser Aziz has inaugurated a newly installed tube well at Union Council Rawat. On this occasion, Chairman Union Council Rawat, Chaudhry Azhar Mehmood, Chairmen of other union councils of Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (MCI) and a large number of people from surrounding areas were also present.
Addressing the ceremony, Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that according to the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, MCI will end the discrimination between the urban and rural areas of the Federal Capital, adding that allocation of funds for the development activities would equally be distributed between the union councils of urban and rural areas. He further added that rural areas of the Capital city remained neglected for the last 60 years; however, MCI will pay heed to the rural areas to being them at par with urban union councils.
Paying tribute to the chairman and vice chairman union council of Rawat, Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that the way they served the people of Rawat is outstanding rather union council Rawat is a model for other union councils of the city. Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that devolution of power to grass root level is the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan, under which the people prefer the civic facilities and development projects.
He further said that following these principles, MCI is transferring all powers to the union councils so that they could produce their own resources and solve their problems at their own. Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz expressed his pleasure and said that revenue generated by union council Rawat is being spent for the welfare of the people of the area to facilitate them at their doorstep. He further said that MCI is committed to facilitate the people at their doorstep.
He said that the aim of assigning the task of chairmanship of CDA to the Mayor of Islamabad by the Prime Minister of Pakistan was to initiation of people welfare and development projects in neglected areas of Islamabad on priority as per vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan. He said that perfect social infrastructure in all union councils in the rural as well as urban areas would be established, which will include dispensaries, schools, community centres, offices and other civic facilities. He said, we are so lucky that Prime Minister is steering us, adding that besides, provision of 200 buses for the schools, he has also gifted the city with establishment of four new hospitals.
He further added that MCI is so grateful to Prime Minister in this regard. Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that in line with the directions of Prime Minister of Pakistan, all longstanding issues are being resolved in different phases, while strict measures are being taking to eliminate the corruption. To ensure good governance and transparency in MCI and CDA, he said that stern actions are being taking against the officers and officials to ensure accountability. Earlier, Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz inaugurated the newly installed tube well in union council Rawat. This tube well has been installed at the cost of Rs. 2.2 million, which will supply 10,000 gallon of water per hour. This tube well will meet the water needs of the residents of union council Rawat.
On this occasion, Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz visited the bazaar established by the union council Rawat and also visited the office of union council Rawat. Chairman union council, Rawat, Chaudhry Azhar Mehmood apprised the Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz that many development projects.
