Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz Saturday said that Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) would make all out efforts to control pollen allergy in the federal capital. Directorate of Health Services (DHS), MCI has devised a strategy to control and curtail pollen allergy during Pollen Allergy season. All DHS Medical Centers have been declared Pollen Allergy management Centers to provide treatment to the patients.
Mayor said this during a meeting held to analyze preventive measures taken by the concerned formation of MCI against pollen allergy threat.
On this occasion Director General Health Services, Additional Director Health Services and other senior officers were also present.
Sheikh Anser Aziz directed the DG Health Services to take effective measures against the pollen allergy in the city. He directed the concerned formations of the authority to formulate a firm strategy in collaboration with the hospitals of the federal capital for eradication of pollen allergy.
He also directed to ensure sufficient stock of relevant medicines in all Pollen Allergy Management Centers so that residents could get best medical relief round the clock.
Talking about the public awareness campaign on pollen allergy, Mayor urged for printing of leaflets and brochures and its distribution among the public for awareness purpose. On this occasion, Mayor was apprised that the a comprehensive plan about the preventive measures against pollen allergy has been finalized.
He was informed that appropriate amount of relevant medicines are being provided to Pollen Allergy Management Centers and more will be provided as per demand and requirement.
He was briefed that Medical officers have been directed to treat patients in line with international protocol and referral of patients to the hospitals, if required, without wasting time. Furthermore, Medical Officers have also been instructed to display banner at each Pollen Allergy Management Center and develop statistics of daily turnover of pollen allergy victims. The meeting was told that arrangements have been made to impart training and counseling of patients about preventive measures against pollen allergy.
