Mayor inaugurates 100-day cleanliness drive

Karachi—Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhter has said that as promised we have started 100-day cleanliness drive in different city areas with the support of citizens on Thursday.
The Mayor assured that we would Insha Allah bring improvement in the cleaning and road infrastructure in the city. He expressed these views while talking to media representatives after inaugurating the cleaning campaign in Shah Faisal Colony near Shama Shopping Centre, said a statement.
The Mayor was accompanied by the MNA Sanjay Barwani, MPA Nishat Zia Qadri, Aamir Moeen Pirzada, DMC Korangi Chairman Nayyar Raza and others. The Mayor said improvement will be brought in schools and dispensaries functionings during this drive in the selected union councils. The provision of 1,200,000 blocks for streets and 4,000 main hole covers and LED bulbs in four union councils of Korangi would be installed.
The Mayor said cleaning and repairing of roads would be done on priority basis during this drive. He appealed to the citizens of Karachi including NGOs and well offs to join hands in this drive.
