Islamabad—Mayor of Metroplitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) Sheikh Anser Aziz Wednesday hosted a reception for participating delegates in International Technical Vocational Education and Training Conference.
The reception was attended by ambassadors and diplomats of differentcountries, Executive Director National Vocational and Technical Training Commission Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema, Member Administration CDA, Member Planning and Design Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and Deputy Mayors, said a press release issued here.
Welcoming the delegates of the conference, the mayor who also holds the charge of Chairman Capital development Authority (CDA) said the government is taking consolidated steps for promoting technical education and training in the country.
He pointed out that holding of international conference will not only help boost the capabilities of Pakistani youth but also bring home benefit of learning from the experiences and best practices being applied by other countries. He said such conferences and sessions are not only result oriented but also contribute toward education and training of the youth.
He gave detailed view about development of the city, its master plan and mega development projects being executed in the city. He said that for the first time in the history of city, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has entrusted responsibility of development of the city upon the elected representatives. He said in order to fulfill these responsibilities all out efforts would be made. The delegates and participants of the conference visited different recreational places of Islamabad and lauded the natural beauty of the city.
