Marghazar zoo to be upgraded

Islamabad—The Marghazar zoo will be upgraded and developed to make it more attractive for the visitors. Zoo Administration talking to APP said that more animals and birds would be brought in the zoo.
He said a dispensary would also be established for treatment of animals and birds.
He said there was no proper nutritionist and some expert workers had to take care of the diet of animals, birds and other species. During visit to the Zoo, the visitors also demanded that more attractive animals and birds should be brought in the zoo.
A large number of people daily visit the zoo but their response is not good because of shortage of animals and birds in the Zoo.
It may be mentioned here that Secretary Climate Change, Abu Akif during his recent visit to the Zoo, directed the administration to take steps for providing sagacious and conducive environment to animals and birds. The zoo project started in 1978 as a refuge for leopards, spotted deer and gazelle found in the region.—APP
