Mamnoon, Shahbaz felicitate Dar on getting best FM award

Islamabad—President Mamnoon Hussain and Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Sunday congratulated Minister for Finance senator Ishaq Dar on getting the ‘Finance Minister of the year 2016 for South Asia’ award.
The President conveyed his felicitation message to the Finance Minister on phone and said that his selection as the best finance minister was an acknowledgement of the successful economic and financial policies.
He further hoped that Ishaq Dar would continue his hard work for the economic stability of the country and prosperity of the people of Pakistan, said a press release.
The Emerging Markets, the newspaper of the IMF/World Bank Annual Meeting, had awarded Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar as ‘Finance Minister of the year 2016 for South Asia.’ APP/irf/tsw Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that national economy had strengthened due to the best economic policies of Ishaq Dar under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
He said that Ishaq Dar had formulated such policies, due to which, favourable atmosphere had been provided to private, local and foreign investors. He said that due to best capabilities, the Finance Minister had made Pakistan a suitable place for profitable investment and trade, and the confidence and interest of investors had increased due to economic policies.
The chief minister said economic indicators had improved substantially as a result of economic reforms made by the Finance Minister besides growth rate had increased in the country and budget deficit reduced. He said that inflation rate was at the lowest level in Pakistan in the last 47 years due to the government steps.
He said declaring Pakistan Stock Exchange as an emerging market by Morgan Stenley Capital International was an important progress.—APP
