Malik Saad Academy wins IGP KP T20 Cricket Cup

Peshawar—Malik Saad Cricket Academy clinched the trophy after defeating Malik Sports Academy by just one run in a dramatically ended final of the IGP KP T20 Cricket Cup played here at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
SSP Peshawar Abbas Majid Marwat was the chief guest on this occasion.
Secretary Malik Saad Sports Trust Amjad Aziz Malik, International Test umpire Mian Said Shah, Organizing Secretaries Farid Khan and Hashmat Khan, and a number of spectators were also present to witness the final.
Malik Saad Academy team won the toss and elected to bat first by setting up 146 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs with Alamzaib made a cracking 64 runs, Raheem Ullah made 25 runs each. Rawayat and Aftab took two wickets each.
In reply, Malik Cricket Academy bundled out for 145 runs for the nine in 20 overs. They were remained a run short from the winning target as in the last over Malik Academy need six runs on six balls. Abdullah made 36 runs, Khayam scored 33 runs and Esha Khan scored 27 runs. For Malik Saad Academy Abid Ali took four wickets for 26 runs by turning the whole complexion of the match into his team favour.
Alamzeb was also declared Man of the Tournament who scored more than 200 runs while Abid was declared as best bowler.
At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes. The winner was awarded Rs 30,000/- and Rs 20,000 for the runners-up.
On this occasion, a total of 22 bats were also distributed on behalf of the Malik Saad Sports Trust. A total of 10 teams took part in the Cup played on knock-out in the first phase and the five teams played on a single league basis.—APP
