Maldivian writers delegation visits PAL

Islamabad—A four member senior writers’ delegation of Maldivia led by President of the Dhivehi Language Academy (DLA) Ashraf Ali on Monday visited Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL).
The delegation during visit attended a seminar organized in the honour of the guests.
The delegation include President DLA Ashraf Ali, Vice President DLA Mohtarma Rafia Al Qadir, Ex First Lady and wife of late Maldivian President late Ibrahim Nasir renowned scholar and writer Mohtarma Naseema Muhammad Kaleefano and Abdul Rashid poet and scholar.
Chairman PAL Prof. Dr Muhammad Qasim Bughio briefed the delegation about Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL).
Deputy Head of Mission of Maldives/ First Secretary High Commissioner in Pakistan Ahmed Mujtaba, Chairman PTV Ata ul Haq Qasmi, Dr Ihsan Akbar, Afshan Abbasi, Sarwat Mohiddin, Major Iqbal Dar, Prof Qaisrah Alvi, Akram Zaki, Farah Deeba, Fareeda Hafiz, Joint Secretary National History and Literary Heritage Division Junaid Iqbal were also present on the occasion.
The writers of both the countries expressed resolve to further strengthen literary relations between the two sides. The delegation showed their interest in understanding Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Urdu literature.
The head of delegation said that their is a need to exchange literary, cultural and arts delegation between the two countries.
