Islamabad—Lok Virsa Mandwa Film Club on Saturday organized screening of classic film ‘Aaina’ here at Lok Virsa Media Centre. Bahaar Begum was the special guest on the occasion.
Bahar Begum is an actress best known for many movies since 1956. She was first introduced to film industry by the renowned film director Anwar Kamal Pasha in film Chann Mahi (1956).
The film Aaina was produced in 1977 and directed by Nazr-ul-Islam. The film starred Shabnam and Nadeem in the lead roles and holds the distinction for being the longest running Pakistani film at the cinemas on record.
The film was a musical success as well and has trademark song visualizations from director Nazr-ul-Islam.
The music was composed by Robin Ghosh and the playback singers were Mehdi Hassan, Mehnaz, Alamgir, Nayyara Noor and Akhlaq Ahmed. The theme song is Mujhe Dil se na Bhulana, sung in a happy mood, sad mood and another song version sung by the child star at the climax of the movie.
