Lok Virsa concludes two-day youth painting contest to mark I-Day

Islamabad—A 2-day youth painting contest organized by the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) in collaboration with Training Wing of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) concluded here on Friday. The theme of the event was “Independence Day of Pakistan” .
Executive Director, Lok Virsa, Dr. Fouzia Saeed told Seventy five youth/students from various schools and colleges of urban and rural areas of federal capital took part in the contest.
Special youth from Directorate General for Special Education are also seen actively involved in the painting work.H-9/4 is also participated in the contest. A panel of six art teachers had been nominated to adjudge paintings for the contest.
All paintings will be displayed at the Pakistan Monument Museum on 14th August from 10 am to 6 pm for public viewing.
Three best paintings had received cash prizes from Lok Virsa.
Talking to APP, Executive Director, Lok Virsa Dr. Fouzia Saeed said “Our present focus is on youth mobilization with the slogan harnessing culture with education. We want to inculcate awareness among our younger generation about the rich cultural heritage of Pakistan. In this respect, we are holding different programs. “ “The ongoing children summer camp in regional languages and the today’s youth painting contest is a step forward in this direction”. She added.
ED Lok Virsa appreciated the contribution of FDE for collaborating with Lok Virsa regarding its culture & education-oriented projects.—APP
