Light rain, snowfall over hills likely

Islamabad—Light rain-thunderstorm with light snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas while cold and dry weather to persist in other parts of the country in next 24 hours.
Light rain with thunderstorm is forecast in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and its nearby hilly areas during this time span.
A fresh westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during the current week, an official of Met office told APP.However rain- thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places of Malakand, Hazara divisions. Shallow foggy conditions likely to occur in plain areas of Punjab during morning hours. Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning: Islamabad six degree centigrade, Lahore and Peshawar eleven, Karachi twenty-two, Quetta two, Gilgit three, Murree four and Muzaffarabad ten degree centigrade. In last 24 hours weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country. Lowest temperatures recorded on Sunday remains Skardu -04øC.—APP
