Review law and order situation; US CG meets CM
Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that protection of life and property of people is top priority of the government and no effort will be spared in this regard
The Chief Minister said this while presiding over a high level meeting which reviewed overall law and order situation in the province and security arrangements at public places.
He said that the present situation demands emergent measures, therefore, institutions concerned should perform their responsibilities efficiently and with effective coordination for foiling nefarious designs of enemies of peace.
The Chief Minister further directed to improve security arrangements for the people and said that a comprehensive system be evolved for the monitoring of officials on duty and senior officers should personally review the efficiency of officials deputed at important places.
Meanwhile, American Consul General Zachary Harkenrider met Shehbaz Sharif and, expressing deep sense of sorrow, condemned the Gulshan Iqbal Park tragedy in which precious human lives were lost. He expressed sympathies and condolences with the bereaved families and said, “We are with Punjab government and its people in this hour of distress.” The Consul General said that America was with Pakistan in the efforts made for elimination of terrorism.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Pakistani nation is once again determined to eliminate terrorism and all the nations of the world have to take effective steps to overcome terrorism. He said that brutal killers are the enemies of the whole world and no effort will be spared for foiling their nefarious designs.
The Chief Minister said that elimination of terrorists is the mission of the government and peace will be resorted in Pakistan through the force of unity and collective wisdom.
