LHC principal seat appellate tribunals decide all appeals

Appellate tribunals, constituted at the Lahore High Court (LHC) principal seat, have decided all appeals, filed against the Returning Officers’ (ROs) decisions.
According to LHC sources, as many as 345 appeals were filed against the returning officers’ decisions of accepting or rejecting nomination papers of candidates and the same were fixed before four different appellate tribunals for hearing, which decided all the appeals within the stipulated time period.
LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali had constituted four election appellate tribunals at the principal seats for hearing of the objections against nomination papers of the candidates.
Four appellate benches comprising Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, Justice Faisal Zaman Khan, Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi and Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh heard the appeals at LHC’s principal seat.
They heard the matters of Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranawala, Sargodha, Okara, Pakpattan and others besides minorities and special seats.—APP
