LG Minister attends Easter ceremony

Karachi—Sindh Minister for Local Government, Jam Khan Shoro, visited an Easter ceremony at the St. Patrick Church in Saddar here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion he said that the very purpose of his visit was to attend the Easter festivities and to extend greetings to the Christian community of the city, the province as well as of the country.
Shoro said that he has come here on the directive of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), to extend Easter greetings. The provincial minister pointed out that there is a religious harmony in Sindh. He pointed out that the festival of Holi was also observed by the Hindus, Christian and the Muslims.
The Minister also praised the role of the Christian community especially in the fields of education and health. The Special Representative of the Bishop of Pakistan, thanked the Sindh Government for the security and the cleanliness arrangements on the occasion.
He said that the Christian community is with the people of Pakistan for the progress and prosperity of the country. Saleem Micheal also expressed his views on this very occasion.—APP
