LG elections a positive development

Islamabad—Advisor to the Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui Thursday said local government (LG) elections were a positive development as they would help provide standard civic amenities to the citizens.
He was talking to the Federal Capital’s first elected Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz, who called on him here at the Ministry of National History and Literary Heritage, said a press release.
Siddiqui congratulated Sheikh Ansar and his colleagues for winning LG election, saying that it was a reflection of the trust of voters of Federal Capital in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), its leadership and agenda.
He said the people of Islamabad had great expectations from their elected representatives. Sheikh Ansar along with his team would set a precedent by serving the citizens of Islamabad, both from urban and rural areas, he added.
Sheikh Ansar Aziz reciprocated the Advisor’s sentiments and said under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, he and his colleague would serve the people of Capital according to the party’s vision.
All resources would be utilized to make Islamabad one of the top most capitals of the world, he added.—APP
