Launching ceremony of Jia Shah’s book

Parveen Shakir Trust (PST) is organizing the launching ceremony of the maiden collection of poems by the young poet Jia Shah tomorrow (Wednesday), 4 p.m at the Islamabad Hotel.
The book is titled ‘Bab-e-Gul Mai Hawa ka Biyan.’ Jia Shah is an emerging voice on Pakistan’s literary horizon. She is a gifted poet and her kalam has been sung by eminent singers of the country. Hailing from Sangarh (Sindh) Jia Shah is described by critics a sensitive soul and a vocal advocate of female sensibilities.
After doing B.Com from Hyderabad, Jia did her MBA from Preston University of Islamabad. She started her professional career as research officer in ILO. She also spent some time in Unicef and AGG Islamabad. She has also done an extensive research on ‘she-males.’
The work is going to the print very soon. Critic Naseer Memon has paid tribute to Jia Shah’s maiden work expressing his deep appreciation of her diction, treatment of various themes and above all her simple but appealing style that leaves deep impact on the readers.
