Shah says President, NA Deputy Speaker have become controversial
Islamabad—Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah on a point of order during the NA session said that they will continue to boycott the proceedings when the Deputy Speaker is in the chair. He referred to Monday’s decision of Deputy Speaker on an amendment moved by Shazia Marri during passing process of motion of thanks for President’s address to the joint sitting of the Parliament.
He alleged that the government made the matter controversial. He said the deputy speaker bailed out the government through casting his vote on the amendment. He said President Mamnoon Hussain and Deputy Speaker NA Murtaza Javed Abbassi have become controversial. He said that half of the house was against the motion of thanks. He said the position of president has become controversial.
He said opposition should not be weakened, adding that if opposition will be weakened then government could also not remain safe. He said if opposition will be strong then government will also be strong. He said opposition is the power of government. Shah said we could move forward with better understanding.
The National Assembly was informed on Tuesday that Motorway from Lahore to Islamabad is being completely rehabilitated by the FWO on Built, Operate and Transfer basis.—SABAH
