KU students’ plight

Muhammad Saqib

The students of Karachi University have to fight the scorching heat while they walk to their respective departments as they get off from buses at the main road. The area of the university is so wide that the departments are located far away from the bus stops. One gets tired as one reaches the respective departments. Resultantly, a student cannot listen to the lecture with full concentration. The problem is serious especially for female students who cannot get lifts inside the university whereas the male students somehow manage to take lifts inside the campus.
It is heartening to note that despite having smaller area than the KU, the Dow University Hospital (Ojha Campus) has introduced a shuttle service for its students. It is high time that the administration of the KU introduce the shuttle service as the students have repeatedly brought this problem to the notice of the authorities.
