Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has announced the up-gradation of police constable from grade-5 to grade-7, head constable from grade-7 to grade-9 and the post of ASI from grade-9 to grade-11 bringing them at par with those of Punjab Police. He was addressing the farewell party arranged in the honor of outgoing IG Police Nasir Khan Durrani at Police Line Peshawar the other day. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zafar Iqbal Jhagra, Chief Secretary Abid Saeed, Provincial Ministers, MPAs, high ranking officials and senior journalists attended.
Lauding the services of IGP Nasir Khan Durrani for making the Police a true professional force, the Chief Minister remarked that the standard of policing set by the outgoing IGP Nasir Khan Durrani would be carried ahead by the new officer. He said it was hard to deliver in war-torn province like ours but he proved that even in the worst condition, the officers having the capacity and commitment can deliver.
He reminded that when he took over he wanted to find a head for the Police to be a honest and upright one that took three months and we got Nasir Khan Durrani. In the first meeting he demanded that he would restore the people confidence on police, if the political elite did not interfere in the affairs of police that was a promise he made to the IGP and he (IGP) fulfilled his word for converting the police into a true professional force.
Now Police was delivering and model Police stations established at Tehsil level and some are being established. The people now were comfortable with the level of delivery of police force in the province, he added. Earlier, the Chief Minister Khattak said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was fast becoming the center of trade, commercial and industrial activities adding that his government did away with the condition of NoC that created a conducive environment for rapid industrialization in the province.
He was addressing the chairman of JS Group of Industries Ali Jehangir Siddiqui and his team who met the Chief Minister here at Chief Minister House Peshawar. Chairman EZDMC Ghulam Dastagir and others also attended. Giving details of the Provincial government industrialization policy and the incentives given in this regard, the Chief Minister said his government introduced a one window operation giving all facilities and solving all problems of the investors and industrialists under one window operation.
Even the province would extend extra gas for the electricity production to be consumed in the industrial units in different industrial estates, he added. He asked the Chairman JS Group to interact with the EZDMC and assured his government would facilitate investment in the province. The delegates appreciated the steps of the provincial government for the fast track industrialization and investment friendly steps and sure interest for investment in different projects.
The Chief Minister said that in the emerging scenario, KP province occupied the central stage for industrialization and investment. In the given situation, the provincial government had taken all steps for investment facilitation.
