KP to stitch ads funds release with salary payment to journalists

Centralized and uniform policy to be adopted by the Centre followed by provinces on the issue of wage board to redress the complaints of working journalists regarding implementation of wage board says Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, advisor to CM KP on Information and Education while addressing cheque distribution ceremony at press club on Friday.
Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani said that KP government is committed to enforce the award and wants to stitch the release of advertisements with the payments to journalists according to the wage board recommendation but it needs first lead by the center as it is the combine issue of federal and provincial governments faced by the working journalist at national and local level.
Mushtaq Ghani said that till date, no such kind of move is initiated by the centre to bring all stake holders under one umbrella while in the education sector, we, the centre and all the provinces are one page and had reached on consensuses to achieve a minimum standard in education with preparation of circular and other areas and work is going on smoothly.
Advisor to CM on Information said that ‘Sehat Insaf Card’ will be provided to all working journalists of the province and informed that two places are recommended by the authorities for the ‘Akhbar Market’ in Abbottabad and site will be shortly finalized for handsome funds are allocated in the budget.
Regarding the limit of advertisements to local papers, Ghani told that limit is going to be increased upto Rs10 (m) projects at locally which is currently Rs1 (m) and advertisements to the regional papers will be released accordingly.
