KP IGP visits sensitive posts to boost morale of policemen

Peshawar—Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani Tuesday visited police posts situated adjoining to sensitive FATA areas of Kuram Agency and North Waziristan Agency in Hangu district to wish Eid greetings and boost morale of the personnel deployed there.
The IGP distributed Eid gifts and cash rewards among the police personnel for their meritorious services. Regional Police Officer Kohat DIG Akhtar Hayat Gandapur and District Police Officer Kohat also accompanied the IGP during the surprise visit. The IGP first visited the Torgar Police Post connecting Parachinar, the capital of the Kurrum Agency, with District Hangu. Then he met the police personnel deployed at Kurrum Pull Police Post connecting District Hangu with North Waziristan and Kurrum Agency.
The IGP also inspected the working of police Nakabandi Kurrum Pull particularly the IT gadgets provided to the police personnel for effective checking of vehicular movement and to prevent the ingress of illegal immigrants and other suspects. He monitored the live working of Vehicle Verification System and Identity Verification System.
Addressing the police Jawans and officers deployed on the highly sensitive posts, the IGP praised their bravery, dedication and commitment to duty. He boosted their morale by encouraging them to keep their spirits high.
It is pertinent to mention that these police jawans manning extremely sensitive zones between settled areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA are playing a pivotal role in the war against terrorism by preventing the infiltration of militants and miscreants through vulnerable routes.
A large number of police personnel have embraced martyrdom while being deployed on these posts in the service of nation by defending the frontiers of the state. Moreover, the IGP stressed the police officers and constabulary to improve their overall behavior and public dealing. He reiterated the zero tolerance policy towards corruption.
The IGP also met the traders’ community in Thall Bazar (District Hangu) where he inquired about the public grievances and directed the RPO Kohat and DPO Hangu to provide all kind of support to the public for resolution of their issues.
The trader community including District Nazim highly praised the performance and political neutrality of the Police.—APP
