KP hands over flood protection recommendations to centre

Peshawar—Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak handed over provincial governments’ recommendations to the federal government for inclusion in the proposed 10-years National Flood Protection Plan.
The proposed Plan is being prepared by Ministry of Water & Power in consultation with Ministry of Climate Change and Provincial Governments.
The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has already prepared and compiled its detailed recommendations in consultations with different departments and stakeholders. Besides, others the Chief Minister Baluchistan, Federal Secretaries for Water and Power and Climate Change and high ups of all the four provinces were present at the meeting when Khattak handed them over his government recommendations on Wednesday.
He also briefed the participants about the salient features of these recommendations, the situation in KP and the threats posed by climate change to the province.—APP
