KP govt stops execution during Ramazan

Abbottabad—The government of Khyber Phaktoonkhawa (KPK) on Sunday decided to stop the hanging of prisoners in the province during the holy month of Ramzan.
According to a notification, the KP government following the directives of the federal government put a one-month moratorium on hanging of convicts in the province.
Over 100 convicts awarded death senetnce are presently imprisoned in different jails of the province, including Central Jail Peshawar, D I Khan and Haripur jails. Some prisoners, whose death warrants have already been issued, will now be executed after Eidul Fitr.
After Peshawar Army Public School (APS) massacre execution started again across Pakistan, as a result hundreds of terrorists were executed so far in Pakistan’s different jails.—APP
