The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority sealed eight shops, seized 1000 liter adulterated milk containing chemical in the provincial capital on Friday.
One shopkeeper was arrested while cases were registered against two others for resisting during the operation.
The KP Food Safety and Halal Food Authority checked the milk and other dairy products being sold on milk shops in Hashtnagri, Skindarpura, Firdous Chowk and surrounding areas of Peshawar.
During operation, the food department sealed eight shops, seized 1000 liters adulterated milk containing chemicals harmful for human health.
The food department team arrested one shopkeeper while cases were registered against two others for resistance during the operation.
The seized adulterated milking was disposed off later and the detainee was being interrogated.
Meanwhile, the KP Food Safety & Halal Food Authority has issued warning to other milk sellers and owners of the food outlets to mend their ways otherwise strict action will be taken against them.
