Lahore—The Excise and Taxation Department Punjab on Tuesday caught Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Pervez Khatak’s vehicle with fake number plate, however it was released on intervention of a top KP bureaucrat later on.
Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Zeeshan Ranjha stated that a land cruiser was stopped for snap-checking in provincial capital’s Defense area Phase 5. The person driving the car told himself as driver of KP CM while Pervez Khatak’s son was also sitting in the car, according to officials.
Afterwards the vehicle was released, when a top bureaucrat from KP called Excise officials and told them that vehicle was owned by Chif Minister Pervez Khatak and that fake number plate was used due to uncertain security situation.
It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that Chief Minister Pervez Khatak is not in Lahore currently.
