Kohat—Kohat lifted the overall trophy by securing victories in 11 different disciplines out of 15 part of the KP Kohat Division Inter-District Under-23 Boys Games concluded under the aegis of Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Kohat Sports Complex on Thursday.
Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information and Higher Education, was the chief guest on this occasion. Director Sports Training and Operation Tariq Mehmood, District Sports Officer Sikander Shah, Organizing Secretary Syed Saqlain Shah, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation Secretary General Murtaza Hassan Bangash, President KP Basketball Association Faqir Awan, officials, players and large number of spectators were also present.
District Karak and Hangu took second and third position respectively in 15 various events. District Kohat took first position Taekwondo, Gymnastic, Tennis, Hockey, Basketball, Table Tennis, Squash, Badminton, Boxing, and Athletics while got second positions in Judo, Karate, Football and Volleyball.
District Karak won Judo, Karate and Football while Hangu won Volleyball, Hockey and athletics.
On the last day Karak defeated Kohat by a solitary goal in a thrill-packed match witnessed by capacity crowd. Kohat defeated Hangu in the final of Hockey event.
In the Volleyball event Hangu defeated Kohat by 3-0, the score was 25-23, 25-21 and 25-22. In the Judo District Karak won eight gold medals and two silver medal by securing 55 points while Kohat with two gold and eight silver medal took second position. In the Karate Karak won 10 gold medal by taking first position, followed by Kohat with 10 silver medal and Hangu got third position with as many bronze medals. In Athletic Kohat secured 78 points by winning the overall trophy. In the 100m Anis Khan of Kohat was declared the fastest athlete who won gold medal, followed by Rahim Ullah of Karak and Zohaib of Hangu.
