Karachi—Population of fishing village of Ebrahim Hyderi in south of Karachi availed medical cover when Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) arranged medical camps as a part of the second day activities of World Kidney Day.
SIUT has spread the Kidney Day into three days activities.
Medical camps were established in the schools and residences of the village as a part of day long activities, said a statement on Friday.
Prime object of the camps was to create awareness among the population about various kidney disorders and also provide relief to suffering patients with initial treatment.
For this purpose the organizers sought the assistance of prominent personalities of the area who offered their residences and area schools for setting up medical camps.
According to an estimate more than five hundred people reported to the camps. Medical staff present at the camps carried out radiological and pathological testing. Separate arrangements were made for female patients.
Notables of the area including Haji Shafi Mohammad Jamote, Asghar Ratlanwala and Ebrahim Telwala were prominent in providing facilities to the organizers to set up the camps.
