Khursheed Shah criticises PTI for dividing opposition

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah has said that the PTI has broken the alliance of the opposition by their move and now the government will benefit from it.

Talking to the media on Saturday, he said “I would have sacrificed my position to  afeguard the opposition under one leader, rather pursuing such a desire, causing immense damage to the united opposition,” Shah remarked.

“If PTI had approached me, I would have helped them to pursue their earnest wish,” he added.

He said that in the past he had accommodated PTI and Caretaker Prime Minister and Justice Fakhruddin G.

Ebrahim was made chief election commissioner on PTI’s proposal. He said that had PTI was desirous to get the Opposition Leader’s slot, the party should have talked to him. Shah, who is a PPP veteran, said that except MQM and PTI all opposition parties were with him.

Khurshid Shah said that the MQM was with the government two months ago and now no one knows whether it is with the ‘he’ or ‘she’.

Taking a dig at Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Shah said it is beyond his understanding either to count the party as a coalition partner of PML-N or an opposition party.

“I do not know whether MQM-P is ‘he or she’,” he further said.
