KBT unveils Pakistan Cables Reel

Staff Reporter

Karachi—Karachi Biennale Trust (KBT) has launched the Reel provided by Pakistan Cables as part of KBT’s public outreach project, “Reel On Hai”. The Reel at St Patrick’s Cathedral has been created by the celebrated cartoonist Feica and his daughter Fakeha.
Titled ‘Peace’, the work is about hope and unity among communities in Karachi. The Catholic Archdiocese of Karachi generously provided the space to install the Reel at the grounds of the St Patrick’s Cathedral, a religious and architectural landmark of the city. Pakistan Cables Ltd. is the main activity partner for the project.
Reel on Hai is inviting artists, designers and architects to transform cable reels, which will be installed in public spaces throughout Karachi. Reel on Hai will recycle a common object like the cable reel, which is a symbol of Karachi’s industrial power and its never ending expansion into an artwork. Pakistan Cables and Karachi Biennale Trust signed an MoU earlier in July 2016 for Reel on Hai, scheduled for completion in 2017.
