Kashmiri traders to meet pellet victims treatment expenses

srinagar—In occupied Kashmir, trade bodies in what a great embarrassment to the puppet authorities have said that they would meet the expenses of the treatment of all persons having pellet injuries in their eyes.
Addressing joint press conference in Srinagar, Kashmir Economic Alliance Acting Chairman Farooq Ahmad Dar, Kashmir Traders and Manufactures Federation Acting President Bashir Ahmad and Sadiq Baqal said all injured are children of Kashmir and trade bodies will do everything possible for recovery of their eyesight.
“Our hearts are broken on seeing our youth and children being made victims of lethal pellets. We will not leave them in the lurch. We have unanimously decided to meet the expenditure of their treatment,” they said.
They added that they would also send patients to outside state for advance treatment as and when required.
“The use of pellet has proved lethal as it has claimed three lives till date during the ongoing uprising in the valley.
The pellet has also damaged the eyes of youth and children and in some cases the damage may be irrevocable,” they said.
They said they have been meeting the patients in hospitals. “It is painful to see that children aged five and eight have been made the target. Were these minors also pelting stones.”
“There are around 180 cases of eye injuries due to pellets. The victims include men, women and children,” they said.—KMS
