In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Chairman (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, has said that settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people is essential for ensuring permanent peace in the region.
Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said this while addressing a gathering in Shangus area of Islamabad district. He said, Kashmir is a political and humanitarian issue and it is our consistent stand that this issue can be resolved through a meaningful dialogue among Pakistan, India and the people of Kashmir in line with the relevant UN resolutions. He maintained that the Indian military might cannot muzzle the genuine aspirations of Kashmiri people.
Paying glorious tributes to shaheed Burhan Wani on the eve of his second martyrdom anniversary and the martyrs of 2016 mass uprising he said that the unparalleled sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri people for the Kashmir cause would not be allowed to go waste and the ongoing freedom movement would be taken to its logical conclusion at all costs.—KMS
