‘Kashmir not a border dispute’

Srinagar—In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM), Mohammad Shafee Reshi has said that Kashmir dispute is a living reality and it cannot be ended by closing eyes or pushing it to the back burner.
Mohammad Shafee Reshi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Kashmir was not a border or territorial dispute between Pakistan and India but an internationally recognized dispute pertaining to the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris people and was pending with the United Nations for last several decades.He said that India should give up its rigid and unrealistic approach towards Kashmir and come forward to settle the dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations through the implementation of the relevant UN resolutions. He said that peaceful settlement of the dispute could bring progress and prosperity in the region.—KMS
