Kashmir delegation, OIC coordinating at UN

Geneva—Kashmiri activists and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are coordinating closely in international forums, and this cooperation is set to multiply manifold as the 68-year-old Kashmir dispute takes center stage.
The Kashmiri activists met with Dr Saeed Mohamed Al-Ghafli, Member of OIC’s Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. The meeting held in one of the rooms of the UN building lasted for about 50 minutes. Dr Al-Ghafli, who is a UAE diplomat, received a full briefing from Kashmiri lobbyists on the latest situation of occupied Kashmir.
The delegation members, Altaf Hussain Wani and Syed Faiz Nashbandi briefed the OIC official on key humanitarian areas that require urgent attention in Kashmir.
Shamim Shawl, Mir Tahir Masood and Sardar Amjad Yousaf informed him about the delegation’s interaction with the UN mechanism. Ahmed Quraishi briefed the OIC representative on the hate crimes against Kashmiri students and professors at Indian colleges and universities.—KMS
