Karachi to be covered through CCTV cameras under Safe City Project

Karachi—Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said entire city of Karachi would be covered for monitoring through CCTV cameras under safe city project. This he said during his visit to Command & Control (C&C) centre established in CM House last year.
He said that presently around 2000 CCTV cameras have been installed in the city but entire city, particularly the flash points needs at least 6000 cameras of highest resolution.
Syed Murad Ali Shah the police department has developed some ‘Outdoor Broadcasting (OB)’ vans which are highly professional equipped with monitoring cameras and recording system. “These vans are used on such occasions,” he said.
Briefing the chief minister about the C&C at CM House he was told that 9000 cameras of KMC and police department have been connected with it.
The center has the facility of recording the coverage and issuing direct instructions through wireless system.
The chief minister monitored the movement of processions on their different routes in the city. He also talked IG police AD khwaja who was on the visit of the processions routes on his mobile phone and inquired him about the security arrangements.
He said that tomorrow (Moharram 10) is most important day and must be guarded properly. “I am available and would be with my people on routes so keep me informing about each and every moment,” he said and added the police, the Rangers and other law enforcement agencies have done excellent job by providing good security, I am proud of you, “ he said.
